Embedding Cultural Safety in Supervision

A Guide for Psychology Supervisors

It is with great delight that we welcome you to the first inaugural edition of the suite of resources entitled: Listening More: Embedding Cultural Safety in Supervision.

The Listening More resources are designed to support supervisors in being culturally safe and responsive in their supervision of Australia’s psychologists, specifically when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The development of the Listening More resources came about in the recognition that psychology supervisors wanted and needed greater guidance regarding culturally safe and responsive supervision of Australia’s psychologists, especially when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The resources includes three documents to support psychology supervisors:

Listening More: Embedding Cultural Safety in Supervision – A Guide for Psychology Supervisors

Listening More: Embedding Cultural Safety in Supervision – A Reflective Journal for Psychology Supervisors

Listening More: Embedding Cultural Safety in Supervision – Manual of Resources for Psychology Supervisors

This project was formed by the Australian Indigenous Psychology Education Project (AIPEP), in collaboration with the Australian Indigenous Psychologists Association (AIPA). Senior Indigenous leaders in AIPEP and AIPA led the Indigenous governance of this project. The Listening More resources are proudly supported by the Australian Psychological Society, Australian Psychology Accreditation Council, and Heads of Departments and Schools of Psychology Association.
